IT'S WELL

*Mr  Segun* arrives church 5mins after Sunday school...

Elder *Odukoya* noticed him but didn't ask till after service...

Immediately after the brethren said the grace, he walked up to  brother *Segun* and said...

Brother *Segun* how far, you came to church late today and I didn't even see your kids in church, what happened?

Ahhh elder *Odukoya* it's well ooo

No no bro *Segun* don't tell me it's well when it's not well, what happened? Why were you late to church and your family didn't even come?

OK elder, I have serious financial challenges, we didn't even eat throughout yesterday cos there's nothing at home...

I left house around 7am trekking to church, I trekked for 2hrs to arrive here around 9am after the๐Ÿฅ Sunday school...

After explaining in tears, elder  *Odukoya* held his shoulder and says, it's well like you said my brother, the Lord will surely provide...

He continues his sermon, there are too many others who once passed through same thing, their situation has changed now, this government of our country is very hard my brother...

He walks away, he has not less than 5000 naira in his pocket...

At home they have one bag of rice they just opened and over 45 tubers of yam...

They have beverages and they have money saved in the bank...

Bro *Segun* trekked back home, sweating and hungry to meet his hungry wife and kids...

Brethren the last time I checked, it's well is not an ingredient for cooking soup...

The Lord will provide is not a paint of rice...
and can not refill gas cylinder at home...

Yet we call ourselves the image of God...

We forgot that God who we claim to be his image is love and love is giving...

What will it take you to share what you have with your brethren ?

Some of you have kids in schools that pay fees in dollars yet the man sitting close to you in church can't even send his kids to a local school in town...

If only the early church in acts of the apostles will be given the opportunity to watch us for five minutes, they will weep because this is no more the foundation they laid...

Our love for money has over shadowed our love for our fellow human...

It seems the part of the Bible which says if you can't love your brother you see, how can you love God you can't see has been deleted from our bibles ...

Oh that our hearts will be revived to love and show love again...

The death in church today would have reduced...

If only we can be like Jesus and stop deceiving ourselves...

If only we can show mercy ...

If only we can show love today and not tell love...

Ponder on these things...

God is love and love is giving.

Let us reduce depression
Let us rescue each other
Let us reduce the death of our brethren especially youths who find it difficult to cope.

Don't ever go to sleep without checking on family and friends, feed somebody today, help someone today, be like Christ,  be a real Christian.
God bless you is an act of love, show it in action not with your lips.

Youths no matter what happens SUICIDE IS NOT AN OPTION. Talk to someone today

When you see them over excited for nothing, depressed or he or she starts keeping to him or herself pls don't walk away, he or she has lost it.

By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves]. *John 13:35*

THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND SAVED MY MARRIAGE.*

THE DEATH OF HER HUSBAND SAVED MY MARRIAGE.*

_*This writeup will be useful to married couples on this platform!*_

Susan attended a funeral service of her friend who lost her husband at Langata Cemetery.

Susan held her wailing friend strongly as the casket was lowered into the freshly dug grave.

Susan's friend was screaming "My husband don't leave me, please, don't leave me!" as people looked on feeling sad for her.

The children were screaming too. Losing a father is not an easy thing.

If not for Susan, the friend would have thrown herself into the grave to be buried with her husband who died of suicide. Because, the husband found no meaning in life and he killed himself.

Susan remembered the many times the friend would say she is tired of her good for nothing husband and here she is screaming and feeling lost because the husband is no more.

The friend cried till she fainted. Susan and others there carried the devasted woman to an ambulance for first aid.

As Susan watched the spectacle of broken hearts crying for a man who will never ever come back, Susan remembered her husband.

Susan remembered how much she takes her husband for granted.

How she talks to him however she pleases.

How she gives him prolonged silent treatment over issues they can easily resolve.

How she denied him sex many times. And she asked herself "What if it  my husband that is buried today how would I feel?" Susan thought.

Susan remembered that she argued with her husband and he left the house with tension between them just because after all these years, he still leaves his plate in the living room instead of taking it to the sink after eating.

"God forbid that my husband die, but what if as my husband went out in anger and never returns and passes on, is this the last memory I would like my husband and I to have?" She thought again.

Susan began to remember all the wonderful things her husband has done in the past, which she never taught of before except complaining.

Now, in her heart, she began to appreciate him for all his efforts no matter how small it was.

At that moment, she realised her areas of improvement, and said to herself "there is no other man I would rather share my life with than my loving husband."

She thought of life without him and it scared her. And said, "I would rather have disagreements with my loving husband than to lose him to death. I prefer his sense of humour and laughter than to cry for losing him."

That evening, after Susan took her widowed friend to a safe place, she passed by at the supermarket and bought her husband a card saying "Thank you for being in my life"

And when she got home, she cooked her husband's favourite meal and asked her children to join her in celebrating her husband.

That night, her husband came home expecting a fight from Susan, but instead, he got greeting and hugs from Susan and the children.

He was welcomed with songs, dancing and laughter, cute drawings of him with warm messages from the children, a home cooked meal, pleasant conversations. And Susan's husband bust into tears when Susan and the children told him how much they love him and then surrounded him to pray for him.

A grown man cried like a baby because of love. He felt needed and he asked them "Is today father's day?"

Susan looked into his eyes and said, "No, it is lovers day. Because, everyday is special with you around me from now on, we will do nothing but love each other.

I don't know how long we have to live together, but it will not be wasted by fights, misunderstanding, complains and lack of appreciation.

In case you have forgotten, "I love you"

"I love you too" said Susan's husband as he kissed and hugged Susan, the children dancing and cheering on.

Children long for a home where mom and dad give each other warmth.

Since then, both Susan and her husband have been a stronger and more loving couple after realizing that tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Do not judge a book by its cover!!

Do not judge a book by its cover!!
I attended one PhD exit seminar at BSU and the student dressed this way to the presentation. The lecturers were all angry at him and began to rain insults. He stood crying as they said horrible things about him.

When they were done, he began "Standing before you today that I am defending my PhD Thesis is a miracle no one else can do except God. Today is the most special day of my life and I know I have to look my best. I actually did, I wore my best cloths. Standing before you is the son of a very wealthy man whose parents died in a motor accident when he was 9 years old and in primary 4. His late parents left him with 2 younger sisters. The eldest was 6 while the youngest was 4 when they died. All my parents had, was inherited by my father's younger brother and he threw us out of the house. There was no one to run to. We survived it and I promised myself, me and my sisters must get the best of education.

I went to a community school in Ushongo where I work on people's farms in the evening to feed my sisters and later worked in the construction site to make sure they both attended and graduated at Federal Government Girls college Gboko. My sister's sold fried yam and ice fish in Gboko and saw me through school in Uni Agric Makurdi. When I graduated, I thought a job will come and our lives will change. That didn't happen and my sisters insisted I go for M.Sc. I finished my programme at the University of Ilorin in 2017 came here for the scholarship while also insisting my sisters take their JAMB and enroll into the university. Yes, we have God fighting for us and they all passed and are admitted here in BSU. The eldest is in Geography while her kid sister is in Law. The load is all on me. Many of you my lecturers may not even know me because I am not always in class. The little I make goes for their school fees, feeding and accommodation. They have made sacrifices for me and I owe them this education. Profs., Drs, pls pardon me. I know where designer suits are sold in Modern Market but I have to appear before you this way because my sisters would drop out of this university if I do...."

Everyone was shocked and heads down. A lady Doctor couldn't hold her tears. She had to stop him from telling his story and asked the sisters should pack into her house in town no one is occupying since she is staying in the Staff Quarters.

The guy defended his Thesis perfectly and everyone in the hall stood up clapping for him and admiring his strength, courage and resilience.

WHEN THE GAME IS OVER...

WHEN THE GAME IS OVER...  WE SHALL ALL RETURN HOME.
A boy was sent by his father to urgently buy him food from a restaurant. On his way going, he was in a hurry because of the urgency of the assignment.

However, on his way back, he passed where his mates were playing football. He  slowed down, began to watch the game, gradually slowing down until he finally stopped. He watched for a while and got carried away, he became interested, and indicated his interest in playing, he was invited.

He left the food in the care of some unknown people and entered the field. He forgot the assignment completely and played his heart out. He became the man of the match, dribbled opponents, created chances, scored goals and changed the face of the entire game.

When night came, the owner of the ball picked it up. It was time for everyone to go home; to go back to their parents, the game was over!

It now dawned on the boy after everyone had left that he had actually been sent to buy food by his hungry father. He went to where he kept the food, it had already been eaten by goats and dogs, "but I kept this food with some guys here a moment ago." He said.

He picked the plates, but was no longer happy, all the excitement of the game disappeared, the people clapping for him were all gone, the opponents he was playing against were all gone, the ball itself was gone, time was gone, those selling food were gone, he couldn't buy another!

Regrets took over him, he sluggishly walked home, with tears of sorrow and regrets whilst hiding in the dark.

When people saw him, they asked him why he was crying and hiding in the dark with empty plates! He had left with clean plates full of excitement, but returned with same empty plates, so dirty and stained !

When they asked him "Why he couldn't go home, he said his father will beat him". He knew the implications of a wasted time. So sad, too late.

Hear this: We have a home and a Father to return to at the end of life's journey when all is said and done.

Don't be distracted, don't rejoice when people are clapping for you while doing stupid things, childish things, nonsensical things, the wrong things, especially  sycophants,  they are every where,  in offices, work places,  politics ,families and villages,  they won't be there when you are to give an account.

Avoid Distractions, we are sent here for an assignment, the Father is waiting for us, this ball we are busy playing, when night comes, the owner will pick it, the crowd will disappear, we'll be left alone to go back and give a report to our Maker. What will you tell Him ?

Think about it hmmm

WHEN THE GAME IS OVER,..  WE SHALL ALL RETURN HOME.

to whom much was given, much will be required…Luke 12:48.

…to whom much was given, much will be required…Luke 12:48.

Jesus tells us to use this life on earth to prepare for eternity – what will your eternity be?

Dreams
We live in a world that seems so unfair to most of us. Many people are without jobs because of the pandemic, and many more have no food because of the plagues of locusts that are also devouring food sources. So we long for a “good life” that we think money can provide. We believe we can only share with others when we have much to give.

But God gives us examples of how a good life that includes us being generous to others happens. First, we look at the principle of living as defined by Jesus in our verses above. Jesus told the story of a master, a wealthy man, who went away and left his servant in charge. The servant thought he could enjoy a “good life” at the master’s expense for a little while. But rather than becoming like his master, he became selfish and cruel.

Another example of what we tend to do when we are given much from God was Solomon. Not only was he rich, he was also wise and famous. People came from all over the world to meet him and gave him gifts of even more wealth. But Solomon used his wealth and fame to satisfy his own desires. The Bible calls our temptation “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life” (1 John 2:16) and Solomon indulged in all three. He had 700 wives and 300 concubines to satisfy every sexual desire he could imagine. He entertained the rulers of the world, and none was as wise as he. His home was furnished with gold – even the utensils with which he ate were gold (1 Kings 3, 10, 14). And in the end, Solomon wrote that “everything was vanity (useless)!” (Ecclesiastes 1:2).

Reality
An important measuring tool in the Bible tells us where we should set our goals for our life or desires for how we want to live. The Apostle Paul told us the secret in Philippians 1:21 – “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” This does not mean we seek to die physically; we seek to make our lives all about Jesus Christ.

When do we begin living for Him? Now! You may be in school – learn how to learn, see beyond the things you are being taught to understand the principles God gives us as truth in the Bible, measure all you learn against that truth. (See Proverbs 1:7)

What do we do for God? Do whatever needs to be done that you see around you right now. Is someone needing help cleaning up a yard? Help them without asking for pay. Does someone need a ride somewhere? If you have an automobile, offer them the ride. Look around you, find someone who needs help, and help them to the best of your ability. (See Ecclesiastes 9:10)

How do you get paid? Sometimes your paycheck is the joy of helping. Sometimes God will provide another of your needs through someone else. But whatever you do, just do it for Him rather than worrying about your own needs, because Jesus knows what you need and will provide for you. (See Matthew 7:11)

Where should you begin? Begin in your own home. Are you living with your parents? Could you help them? Are you married with a family? Help your spouse and children. Are you a member of a church? Help your church family, especially those who are older or sick, or have lost loved ones. (See Romans 12:15)

Jesus said in Mark 8:36 – “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” We keep only that which we freely give to God.

Discover the joy Jesus gives when we help strangers in need. Proverbs 19:17 and Luke 14:12-14 are two significant passages we can follow in helping people we do not know. My pastor reminded us that Jesus never saw crowds, only individuals. Look for that one or two you can help, and tell them about Jesus’ love as you do so.

Lord Jesus, help me to work in building Your kingdom in Heaven. In Jesus Mighty Name.  Jesus love's you
