Rangers, Enyimba, Kano Pillars,Gor Mahia Others To Compete For 50 Million Naira Coal City International Football Pre-Season Tournament Four Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL sides, have been included to participate in the maiden edition of the Coal City Football International Pre-season tournament in Enugu state. Rangers International, Enyimba FC, Kano Pillars and Remo Stars will battle for supremacy against, Gor Mahia of Kenya, FC kallon from Sierra Leone, Coton FC of Benin and Esporte Clube Vitoria of Brazil. Brought by Ski-Hi Entertainment, the tournament scheduled to take place from August 1 2024, will see 15 matches on 9 match day played at the 22,000 capacity Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium ( The Cathedral). Speaking at a press conference in Enugu, Mr Ifeanyi Ogbu, CEO, Ski-Hi Entertainment, said, matches will be played in a Round Robin format with Each team playing three matches. Ogbu said the best four teams will automatically proceed to the semifinals. On the introduction of foreign clubs, the CEO said, it is poised towards putting Enugu state as a center of attraction globally stating that, the prize money for the showpiece is 50 million naira. “It will be great to see other nationality in Enugu, on the prize award, the winner will earn 50 million while the second best team goes home with 10 million naira; Also for every match played (Appearance) 5 million naira will be given to each team”. “Ticketing will be easy for the fans, with a token of 500 naira, u can access the Staduim” Further thanking the Enugu state government for their support, the organizers assured that, the tournament will create an influx of over five thousand visitors in Enugu state which will create a booming and positive effect on the state economy. They also announced that, it will be working with FIFA approved International referees and locally based officials for the tournament noting that, it is working with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
